Cookie Policy

How Rackan's websites and mobile sites use cookies, what each type does, and how to change your mind at any time.

Last updated: 29 September 2026

1. Introduction

Rackan Technologies (“Rackan,” “we,” “us,” “our,” “ours”) values your privacy and is committed to treating your data with respect.

This Cookie Policy (the “Policy”) demonstrates our privacy commitment to our users and our transparency about the use of cookies on Rackan's websites. Its purpose is to communicate to you how Rackan's websites and mobile sites make use of a technology called “cookies”, so that you can make informed decisions when accessing them. Please take a minute to read and understand it.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. When you visit an online site, the web server sends a small text file — which may contain a unique identifier — to the browser on your computer, mobile phone or other internet-enabled device. That file is the cookie.

Cookies, together with other similar technologies, enable websites to operate efficiently and help collect information about your online preferences. In this Policy these technologies are referred to collectively as “cookies”. Cookies do not harm your device and do not contain viruses.

Web beacons

Some pages of our website may also use electronic images known as web beacons — also called clear gifs, tags or pixels. These help us determine how many users have visited our pages and support our analytics activities. Web beacons collect limited information, such as a cookie number, the time and date a page was viewed, and a description of the page the beacon sits on. Web beacons placed by third-party advertisers may also be present on our website.

3. How are cookies used?

Cookies and similar technologies are used to customise content and advertising, to provide social media features, and to see how users move through our website. We use them to understand how users arrive at the site and how they engage with the content. They can improve your experience in a number of ways — remembering your sign-in details, delivering more relevant content, or telling us which pages are more popular than others.

We may engage third-party service providers to act on our behalf to analyse how the website is used. These third parties collect, and share with us, usage information about visits to our website. Sometimes, by correlating that with other information such as your IP address, they measure and research the effectiveness of our advertisements, track page usage, and help us target our recommendations and advertising.

By default we only set cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function. Those cannot be switched off in our systems, and are usually set only in response to actions you take that amount to a request for services. We will update this Policy from time to time should our use of cookies change.

4. Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessaryAlways on
Required for the website to function. Usually set only in response to actions you take that amount to a request for services — setting your privacy preferences, choosing a language, dismissing a site notice, or completing a form. This includes a first-party cookie and browser storage entry (rk-locale) that remember the language you chose. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
FunctionalOptional
Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these, some or all of those services may not work properly. This includes a small first-party cookie (rk_voter_id) and a browser storage entry (rk-reactions) that remember whether you've already reacted to an Insights article, so the thumbs up / thumbs down feature can tell a repeat vote from a first one and show your choice — they carry no personal information and aren't used for tracking or advertising.
PerformanceOptional
Let us count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the site. They tell us which pages are most and least popular and how visitors move around. Everything these collect is aggregated, and therefore anonymous.
TargetingOptional
May be set through our site by our advertising partners, and used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. If you do not allow these, you will see less targeted advertising.

5. Managing cookies

Personal data collected via cookies is collected with your consent. We respect your privacy, which is why you can choose to opt out of certain types of cookies. Some cookies exist to enhance your browsing experience, and disabling them may affect your ability to use parts of the website.

If you wish to opt out of, or withdraw your consent from, certain types of cookies, you can change your choice here at any time or contact us at info@rackantech.com.

6. Your options

You can block, delete or disable cookies in your browser whenever you want. Your browser's Help menu will tell you how to change and manage your cookie preferences, and can also delete cookies that have already been stored. Please note that by deleting cookies or disabling future cookies you may not be able to access certain areas or features of our website.

7. Grievances and key contacts

Any discrepancies or grievances will be addressed by Rackan in a timely manner. For any query related to the processing of your personal data by way of cookies and other similar tracking technologies, please write to us at info@rackantech.com.

8. Review and amendment of this Policy

This Policy is reviewed from time to time — at least once a year, or whenever there is a change in the business environment or in the applicable regulations and legislation. If we make changes, we will post them at the top of this page or notify you by other means, such as email.
